This data visualization shows the peak levels of noise along the four Toronto subway lines. At 115 decibels, damage to hearing can occur within half a minute of exposure. Even at 100 decibels, your hearing is at risk after only 10 minutes of exposure [1]. This graph, intended for presentations and journal publication, was designed to invoke the original Toronto Transit Commission map and highlight Toronto's noisiest stations.
